Barbara Greene, IRIS, ADE, RESA

Though she didn’t think of it as a career move at the time, Barbara Greene got her start in the Interior Design field during her high school years by taking an after-school job in a retail lighting store in Northern Virginia. As she selected lighting and accessories for customers and created visual displays for the store, she realized that her interest in all aspects of design would become a life-long passion.

Barbara attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, where she earned a degree in Interior Design. After graduating, she got busy in the business of design by working in furniture, fabric and lighting showrooms in the trendy Design Center in Washington, D.C.

The Next Chapter

In 1991, Barbara moved to Jacksonville, FL and worked on large and small-scale commercial Interior Design projects. This included space planning and selling office furniture. Other invaluable experience she obtained included carpet and flooring sales, as well as facilitating color selections for a new home builder.
Wanting to be more creative, she took a position with the nation’s largest furniture retailer as the In-Store Design Coordinator for their five Jacksonville and Daytona stores. During her six year tenure, she designed and accessorized thousands of room settings to maximize their visual appeal.

Trend Setting

After seeing Interior Redesigns featured in magazines and on HGTV’s Decorating Cents, Barbara decided to bring the concept to Jacksonville. The response has been amazing. She has beautified hundreds of homes in Northeast Florida. Barbara truly enjoys not only the process, but the results…providing an environment that is new and exciting, yet comfortable and familiar.
